When we had the opportunity to be a part of the creation of a “Look Book” shoot. I jumped at the chance to create a video that went deeper than showing off the beautiful wedding dresses. I wanted the viewer to feel excitement and a sense of intrigue over this designer that pushes the limit of feminism and what is expected in a wedding gown. These dresses to a “non-fashionista”, resembled a strength and power to what have been traditionally fragile dresses. They blended beauty and strong lines into wedding dresses that I never seen before.
This 1st film of the series was meant to only stir up emotions and let the viewer look deep into the eyes of these woman and see confidence. As it’s aptly titled “The Look”, I hope you can see the duality of it as I wanted to show both. So I decided to blend footage, use double exposure, and mix speeds to keep the symbolism in not only the dresses and footage, but also in the editing. I hope you enjoy!
This could not have been done without the work of some amazing people.
